Hoo-Rag Review

Posted on December 23, 2012 Posted in Tactical Clothing 2 Comments

While in the military, I along with many others, constantly used an issued piece of gear called a “neck gator”.  Wishing I had “tactically” acquired one upon leaving, I was thrilled to find a new rendition of an old idea.  First a wool scarf followed by a neck gator and the Hoo-Rag.

The Hoo-Rag can be used to avoid getting a sunburn while working or having fun outdoors, along with protecting your head and neck from the cold.  It can also be worn in many configurations, including as a balaclava.

I was legitimately impressed with the warmth of the Hoo-Rag.  I originally thought that they’d need to make a more cold weather oriented product, but upon wearing it in cold wind and rain, I was completely satisfied.

I’ve used the Hoo-Rag while riding four-wheelers, street-bikes, rappelling in cold weather, and fast-roping out of helicopters and it works great.

Hoo-Rag makes over 45 different colors and styles.  They also do custom art and logo’s for your team, company, or for you to simply look different. Check em out!

"Tactically" acquired sir? Hmmph. Sounds mighty shifty.
