The floor plate no longer accepts the dust cover and the magazine has four boxes with square indentations for marking your magazines.
The Floor plate of the new Gen 3 PMAG (Right) is slightly thinner which should allow for the magazine to fit vehicle weapon locks unlike its predecessor (left).
The Magpul PMAG 30 Gen 3 (Right) feels a lot better in the hand. (Maybe its just me but it felt more substantial)
The feed lips on the new Magpul PMAG 30 Gen 3 (Lower) are slightly narrower than previous versions (I compared at least six magazines and found this to be the case, however none were brand new).
I would like to thank the individual who provided the magazine from his personal collection!
